The newest FDA-approved product to hit the market is DAXXIFY, and we’re proud to offer it as a solution for men and women in The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, and surrounding Texas communities who want to look more youthful and refreshed.

While DAXXIFY behaves much like BOTOX®, Dysport®, and other tried-and-true neuromodulators, it has unique properties that offer patients even longer-lasting results.

How does Daxxify work?

Once injected, DAXXIFY temporarily relaxes your facial muscles to soften existing wrinkles and prevent new wrinkles from forming. It’s a quick, well-tolerated procedure that can be performed during your lunch break.

DAXXIFY is often used to treat:

  • Forehead wrinkles and lines (glabellar or “11” lines)

  • Lines around the eyes (crow’s feet)

  • Lines around the mouth (smoker’s lines)

We may also recommend combining DAXXIFY with dermal fillers to enhance your overall facial rejuvenation. During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin, discuss your goals, and recommend a customized treatment approach.

Daxxify - Long-lasting Frown Line Treatment

Those familiar with neuromodulators have most likely heard of the newest one to hit the market: Daxxify. Daxxify is a new, FDA-approved neuromodulator that works similarly to Botox. It aids in preventing, treating, and eliminating wrinkles and deep facial creases.

However, Daxxify has additional components that make it more potent than most other neuromodulators and can last longer than most. For those suffering from harsh frown lines, deep wrinkles, or crow’s feet, Mathis Salon & Spa offers Daxxify to help you eliminate wrinkles for longer.

How does Daxxify work?

Daxxify, or daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm, is a neuromodulator that works as Botox does by paralyzing and relaxing specific muscles. However, unlike Botox, Daxxify is made with amino acids and peptides, which promote healthy collagen and longevity from the treatment. Standard neuromodulators, like Botox, use human blood as a component, which creates the issue of lasting results for many patients. Because of the peptides in Daxxify, the results can last for six months or longer.

Additionally, the neuromodulator is attached to a protein and amino acids, which helps further the longevity of the treatment. By combining Daxxify with amino acids and peptides, the extent to which this treatment lasts is almost twice as long as Botox and other neuromodulators.

What Is Daxxify?

  • Daxxify is revolutionizing the field of anti-wrinkle treatments with its longer-lasting effects. Unlike other neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau, which typically last up to four months, Daxxify boasts an average duration of six months or possibly longer. This significant extension in longevity means fewer treatments and less variability in your facial appearance throughout the year.

  • Daxxify operates by blocking the communication between nerves and muscles, and has been approved as safe and effective by the FDA. This sequence causes muscle relaxation, leading to the temporary paralysis and relaxation of facial muscles, effectively preventing the creation and worsening of facial lines and wrinkles. With its unique peptide exchange technology and superior longevity, Daxxify is setting a new standard in the realm of aesthetic treatments.

Does Daxxify Last Longer Than Botox?

Daxxify works by blocking the communication between nerves and muscles, a mechanism similar to other neuromodulators, which results in the temporary paralysis and relaxation of facial muscles.

Daxxify is formulated with a unique peptide matrix, which is smaller and can penetrate the skin more easily. This unique formulation allows Daxxify to remain stable and effective at the neuromuscular junction for a longer period, leading to longer-lasting results.

The extended duration of effect means that patients using Daxxify would need fewer treatments per year, offering a more convenient and time-efficient solution for wrinkle treatment.

Benefits of Daxxify.png

Benefits of Daxxify

Although Daxxify lasts longer than Botox and other neuromodulators, it offers more benefits to help patients live wrinkle-free. Some benefits include:

  • Long-lasting results

  • Smooth complexion

  • Made without human or animal by-products

  • Eliminates wrinkles and harsh lines

  • Approved to treat excessive sweating

  • Approved to treat migraines

  • Less frequent need for treatment

  • Fewer side-effects associated with Daxxify

  • Can last over six months for some patients

  • Administered by a top Dallas Advanced Clinical Nurse Injector

Botox typically lasts around three to five months. However, most patients only see the results last around three months. Daxxify can last over six months and sometimes lasts nine months for patients. This is double the time of Botox and other neuromodulators.

Candidates for Daxxify

Many patients make good candidates for Daxxify treatment. Candidates include:

  • Those with facial wrinkles they wish to eliminate

  • Those with harsh frown lines

  • Those with deep lines around their mouth

  • Anyone who suffers from migraines

  • Anyone who suffers from excessive sweating

  • Those who wish to prevent the development of wrinkles and fine line

Daxxify vs Botox

Daxxify vs Botox.jpg

While Daxxify offers longer-lasting results than Botox, it is not necessarily superior. Both Daxxify and Botox offer unique benefits for every patient. However, there are some critical differences between the two neuromodulators. For instance, Botox must be kept refrigerated before use, while Daxxify can be kept at room temperature. Another essential difference is the longevity of each treatment.

Botox lasts around three to five months, while Daxxify can last between six to nine months. However, some patients prefer the quick-fading results of Botox, as it can be customized more easily than Daxxify. Additionally, Daxxify is made with peptides and amino acids, and Botox is made with human blood components.

Many patients start with Botox treatments to find the perfect plan for their wrinkles and fine lines. Once they have established this, they move on to Daxxify, which lasts longer and does not require as many treatments a year.

Daxxify Wrinkle Treatment

Patients can have 40 units of Daxxify administered to target locations in the facial region, which will eliminate harsh lines, wrinkles, and other cosmetic issues that come with age. Once the treatment is complete, patients can expect to see results within the next few days. Results can last six to nine months before patients will need to schedule a maintenance session.

Risks and Side Effects of Daxxify

Although there are inherent risks associated with any cosmetic injectable, Daxxify has fewer risks and experienced side effects than other neuromodulators. In fact, many patients experience no significant side effects after receiving treatment. However, some risks and side effects can include:

  • Headaches

  • Swelling around the injection site

  • Itching

  • Bruising

  • Numbness

  • Drooping eyelids

Remembering that all neuromodulators are considered a safe and effective cosmetic treatment is essential. Most patients don’t experience any severe side effects following their Daxxify treatment.

A consultation at Mathis Salon & Spa is more than just a conversation. Our injectors take the time to get to know you and analyze key factors, like lifestyle, desired outcome, and  face shape to help determine the right approach for your customized service.

At Mathis Salon & Spa, we understand that service pricing can often be confusing and hard to plan for. Our goal is to simplify this process, making it easier for you to budget and enjoy your experience without any surprises.

  • What does Botox treatment involve?
Botox treatment can take as little as 10 minutes, depending on the extent of your session. When you arrive for your treatment, your nurse may numb your skin to reduce discomfort during the treatment. You may receive a numbing injection, a numbing cream or a cold spray on your skin. Next, a nurse will use a tiny needle to inject the Botox cosmetic into your skin or muscles. For crow’s feet, you will receive up to 3 injections in the orbicularis oculi (the muscle on the side of the eye area) on each side of your face, and for frown lines, you will receive 5 injections total in the muscles in your forehead.
  • How much does Botox cost?
The cost of Botox injections depends on the size of your facial muscles, the skill and experience of the injector, the number of treatment areas, the number of product units, where you live, and your desired outcome. Typically, men require more units than women because they have larger facial muscles. Here at Mathis Aesthetics. Botox costs $14 per unit. The price of a Botox treatment typically ranges between $350-$650 at our MedSpa, depending on the number of units required. NEW BOTOX® Tiered pricing: Below 40 units= $14 per unit Below 60 units= $12 per unit 60 units+= $11 per unit 65+ = $10/unit
  • When will I see results?
Botox injections do not work instantly. When Botox is injected, it takes from seven to fourteen (7-14) days to fully block the nerves that make the muscles contract, causing them to relax. In most cases, patients should be able to see a slightly noticeable difference in the appearance of the treated area within the first week. If this is your first Botox treatment, you may experience a “heavy” sensation or feelings of tightness in the treatment area. Because your muscles have been temporarily paralyzed, you likely also notice a difference in your range of expressions.
  • How should I prepare for my Botox treatment?
Before your Botox treatment, let your nurse know if you have had any other type of botulinum toxin injections in the last four months or if you have taken any muscle relaxants, sleeping medication or allergy medications. Your nurse may also ask you to refrain from taking blood thinners before your treatment. You may wear your normal clothing to your treatment.
  • Is there downtime after a Botox treatment?
Sometimes called a lunchtime procedure, you can expect little to no recovery time after your treatment. You can return to your normal activities immediately. We do recommend that you stay upright and refrain from massaging the injection area for 4 hours after the procedure, to prevent the cosmetic from moving beyond the treated area.
  • What does a Botox injection feel like?
Quick and minimally invasive, your mid-level medical injector (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) will inject Botox with a very small needle directly into the muscles that need to be relaxed. Any discomfort at the injection site should be very minimal. You might feel a slight residual stinging immediately after your Botox injections. A small bump may also appear where the injection occurs, but that will quickly fade. After five minutes, your face will look nearly identical to how it looked when you walked into Mathis Aesthetics, with the exception of some redness if you have sensitive skin. Typically, you can return back to work or normal activity immediately post-treatment. On a scale from 1-10, most guests rate it a 1-2.
  • What is Masseter Botox?
Masseter Botox is the name for the medical treatment where Botox is injected into the masseter muscle. This treatment is also referred to as “teeth-grinding injections” or “jaw Botox.” The masseter muscle is a large, rectangular facial muscle that connects your lower jaw to your cheek bone and is the main muscle for chewing. Injecting botulinum toxin type A into the masseter blocks nerve cells to help relax the muscle. It is a highly effective treatment for patients who clench or grind their teeth or have been diagnosed with TMJ. Masseter Muscle Botox is also popular non-surgical treatment to help reduce the width and shape of a square jawline — known as jawline slimming or facial slimming.
  • How long does Masseter Botox last?
Botox results typically last 3-4 months. How often you need Botox treatments is slightly different for every individual. Our bodies metabolize the botulism toxin injections at different rates. Muscle mass, age and your desired outcome also help determine the ideal treatment protocol.
  • How often will I need Botox injections?
For optimal results, you will need Botox injections at regular intervals every 3-4 months.
  • How will I feel after my Botox treatment?
It is very common to feel slight heaviness or pressure in the treated area after Botox injections. Some people experience temporary side effects like a mild headache on the treatment day and the day after.
